I knew Jean wanted something when she rang me this time. She’s my oldest friend, we went right through school together and lived a door apart, so here we were having a drink together in our favourite bar. It was a quiet evening – great for relaxing and finding out what she had to say – and we sat in the window seat we always choose, where we can watch the world go by. When she let it slip I was stunned – Jean, getting married! I knew she and Andy were made for each other, but this came out of the blue. Not only that, but they’d booked a date – just four weeks to go! It wasn’t really a bombshell when she asked me to be her chief bridesmaid – I was honoured, of course – but when she told me that her two little nieces and our best friend Clair were the others, and that I would be given the job of finding the best bridesmaid dresses for what would be the biggest day of her life I was a bit taken aback! Nevertheless, I set about searching for the best bridesmaid dresses I could find. I knew the colors she wanted and would pass everything with her before making a decision, but the joint problem of finding JR bridesmaid dresses for the girls and adult versions for me and Claire added a problem. I soon found some great information – a collection of Inexpensive Bridesmaid Dresses that would suit us perfectly, and a whole selection of JR bridesmaid dresses to choose from including a lovely style from US Fairytales that offered classic looks and a choice of five colors, and at great prices too. Jean was very pleased when I showed her them, and we chose them straight away! There are some occasions when you start thinking about old times, reminiscing about what has gone by and what might have been, and that’s what we found ourselves doing – me, Jean and Claire – when we met later for a meal in the little Thai place by the river. Three girls together, the best of friends, with the past and the future joined together – at last.
