Recently we have seen the return to a softer look for facial makeup, and for those of us who aren’t cosmetic artistes, that’s a very good thing. That said, for this lesson, we’ll be using medium, a base, and a darker eye shadow. Before you start, collect the following items:
1 - Base eye shadow
2 - Dark eye shadow
3 - Medium shadow
4 - Black mascara
5 – Black eyeliner
Creating the Smokey Eye Look
Begin by carefully applying the eyeliner with short strokes from the center of the lids outward to the corners.
Next, apply the base eye shadow color over your entire lid, including the borrow area, and blend it thoroughly.
Then apply your medium eye shadow over the base color, and finally, apply your dark eye shadow along the crease of your lid.
Finally, apply three coats of black mascara to your eyelashes, being careful not to have you lashes clump. Allowing the mascara to dry between applications will help.
The real secret to creating the smokey eye look is to blend, and blend and blend. It may take some practice to get the perfect look, but practicing will also give you a chance to experiment with different eye shadow color combinations.
